The old way, The golden way

The Dubai Metro Gold Line is set to be a major addition to the city’s transport network, stretching 42 kilometres with 18 stations when it opens in 2032.

The fully underground line will pass through 15 key areas and is expected to serve around 1.5 million residents. It will also introduce Dubai’s first fully integrated underground metro route.

While exact station locations haven’t been officially confirmed, the planned 2032 transport map gives a clear idea of where the line will run. The Gold Line will connect with the Red Line at two points, the Green Line at Al Ghubaiba and link twice with Etihad Rail.

Starting at Al Ghubaiba, the line will provide easy access to intercity buses and Dubai Creek. It will then pass through Al Mina Street, close to Etihad Museum and Port Rashid.

Satwa will get metro access for the first time, with two stations improving connectivity in one of the city’s busiest and most diverse neighbourhoods. The line will continue to City Walk, a popular spot for dining, entertainment and events.

At Business Bay, it will connect with the Red Line, forming a key interchange in the city centre. Another stop in Downtown Dubai is expected to ease congestion around the Burj Khalifa area.

Further along, two stations are planned for District 1 in Mohammed Bin Rashid City. The route will also serve Nad Al Sheba and Dubai Hills, both rapidly growing residential areas.

The line is expected to extend to major attractions like Global Village and Dubai Miracle Garden, making them easier to reach by public transport.

Meydan will get its first metro station, linking with Etihad Rail and improving access to the racecourse. Hadaeq Mohammed Bin Rashid, a large green community, will also be included.

Additional stops are planned for Jumeirah Village Circle and Dubai Production City, supporting their growing populations.

The final station will connect to Jumeirah Golf Estates, linking with both the Red Line and Etihad Rail, creating an important transport hub in the south of Dubai.
